ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

Dear colleagues,

 

It is with great pleasure that we announce the Joint Meeting of Spinal Surgery organized by the Association of Neurosurgeons of Russia, Russian Association of Spinal Surgeons and Serbian Neurosurgical Society in conjunction with Croatian Society for Spine Surgery, under the title: SPINE SURGERY IN XXI CENTURY Current concept, controversies, perspectives. This meeting will take place in Niš, Serbia, between October 4-7th, 2018. on the occasion of the 4th Annual meeting of Serbian Neurosurgical Society as a Joint meeting with Southeast Europe Neurosurgical Society.

 

Extremely rapid developments in the field of spine surgery have led to the need for permanent connections, and mutual exchange of knowledge and experience, between a large number of medical experts involved in the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and significant post-operative physical therapy procedures of spinal diseases. The active approach to dealing with degenerative diseases, injuries, tumor processes and deformities of the spine is imperative for the forthcoming period because it allows a lot of patients to quickly return to normal life and thus be less of a burden to society. Cutting-edge technology solutions, materials, and equipment have been very aggressive in trying to impose their vision of spine surgery. Therefore, critically important application of appropriate technical possibilities, harmonization of different viewpoints on the selection of surgical techniques and the use of adequate materials and equipment form a base for mutual exchange of experience, towards the making of the best decisions for the benefit of patients.

 

The city of Niš, where this important international gathering will take place, is one of the oldest cities in the Balkans – the birthplace of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great who proclaimed Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire as early as 1700 years ago. The city with a big heart, Niš stands at the crossroads of historical developments and future prospects. We are truly honored to invite you to be a part of this valued event.
